Working intuitively, the painting process becomes a form of meditation that takes me to a place of stillness within. I hope to capture this sense of communion experienced in nature with the communion sensed within; through the process of painting.

My process involves the laying down of paint in many layers, which become interwoven; creating a complexity and unity of marks.  My latest work incorporates metal leaf which reflects light, creating another dimension, expressing this experience.  My aim is to connect with the viewer through the creation of a surface that is harmonious but with a level of complexity that draws the viewer in to encourage contemplation.
